Wey Valley congratulates hard work and achievements of students

Principal, Sara Adams, was delighted to congratulate Wey Valley’s students who have received their GCSE grades today:

“ I am delighted by the fact that our students who have worked so hard have secured the grades that they need for their post-16 courses and destinations. This is the first year to sit the new style GCSEs in subjects other than English and Maths with their well-publicised tougher standards and new grading systems with grades 9 to 1 replacing the familiar A*-G. The bar has been set at a new high level and students can be proud of their achievements.

I cannot praise highly enough the hard work, professionalism and expertise of our staff and the invaluable support of our parents in ensuring that students were able to achieve their best. Our students have shown real character in successfully undertaking these new, harder exams which involved sitting more examination papers than ever before. They should feel rightfully proud and everyone at Wey Valley wishes them all the very best as they move on to the next phase of their education.”
